Top 5 Coffee Spots on Oak Island

Mornings call for coffee and Oak Island has you covered. From the classics to the unique and creative, you’re never far from an amazing cup o joe. My favorite thing to do is to start my day with a hot coffee in the winter or an iced coffee in the summer and then head out to explore the island. Whether it is a brisk walk with the pups on the beach or a leisurely stroll on the pier, there’s usually a coffee in my hands! Start your day the same way and find your favorite caffeination station! 1. Rubys Coffeehouse at the Oak Island Pier. Not only is the coffee delicious but so is that view! I cant think of a better way to start a day than sitting on the pier, taking in the OKI shoreline and sipping on my favorite caffeinated beverage. Don’t miss out on their bagel sandwiches either:

2. Big Pups Coffee Truck located in the Dairy Queen parking lot. Yep! The DQ Parking lot is where you’ll find some of the finest coffee on the island. They are also all in on the pups  partnering with local shelters and rescues to support dogs in need.

Scott’s Pick: The Charlie Chiller. And of course Hazel, Janet, Loretta and Tammy love their pup cups!

3. Island Jo’s located at the corner of OKI drive and Crowell Street, this locally owned and operated joint makes a fabulous cup of Joe and any other morning tonic that get’s you going. Their deli staples and homemade baked goods make this this a great breakfast or lunch spot.

Scott’s Pick: A 16oz Red Eye and an order of Avocado Toast with a fried egg.

4. Seaside Mermaid is where you get your sweet treat fix! Located at the corner of NE 61st and East Oak Island Drive. Gourmet desserts, chocolates, a huge selection of pastries, and endless coffee creations will have you abuzz with excitement.

5. OKI Coffee House right next to Publix. Their awesome concoctions are sure to keep you caffeinated for your day at the beach. Don’t miss out on their awesome baked good, acai bowls, and other snacks. Grab some OKI swag while you’re there.
