Top 5 Sit-Down Lunch Spots on Oak Island

Crazy day? No time to sit down for a proper lunch? Don’t worry, we got you covered! Whether you’re busy at work or spending the day at the beach - stop by one my favorite places for a quick bite. All of these spots are for speed and quality, so you won’t be disappointed! My pro-tip: grab your food and then head over to the beach or the pier and enjoy the waves crash. Chilling out at the beach? Bring food back for everyone to maximize your time on the sand.

1. Koko Cabana: The prefect combination of spectacular views and tastey food. Koko Cabana has been our go-to spot for lunch (and happy hour) ever since we set foot on the island. Whether you’re inside or outside, the sweeping ocean views are breathtaking. This restaurant is attached to the pier, perfect for an after-meal stroll to walk off your awesome lunch.

Scott’s Pick: Ahi Nachos, a Jumbo Pretzel, and a pound of local Peel-&-Eat Shrimp

2. Lazy Turtle: Continuing with beach-front spots, this is true ‘on the beach’ dining. Stop in any time for a beer and a bite, but you can’t beat a mid-day lunch with the sun on your shoulders.

Scott’s Pick: Fried Pickles and a Philly Cheese Steak

3. The Tipsy Tuna: A quick, calm, and casual, a simple-yet perfected menu, and fast service – this place has you covered. I do a lot of working lunches here and they never disappoint.

Scott’s Pick: A Flounder Sandwich and a bowl of soup

4. Little Bits: was Established in 1987 by “Little Bit”, a Vietnamese immigrant, who mastered the art of southern diner style food. You may just find the best burger on Oak Island here, along with plenty of other diner favorites. But please note – this place is CASH ONLY so bring your bills.

Scott’s Pick: A Fried Bologna Sandwich and French fries

5. Shagger Jacks: Looking for something for everyone? Shagger Jacks has an extensive menu, perfect to please the pickiest eaters. Located under the grove of Live Oaks, this beach bungalow-inspired spot is a perfect mid-day stop. With a full bar and plenty of beer on draft, you won’t leave hungry or thirsty.

Scott’s Pick: Bayou Seafood Pasta. Or for something lighter, try the BBQ shrimp flat bread.
